The San Juan College Henderson Fine Arts Center Art Gallery, invites you to experience the vibrant fusion of traditional Navajo imagery, urban graffiti and will be on display through February 21.

Artwork by Nathan Nez. Left: a sketch of a horny toad with a hummingbird. Right: An array of colors yellow, purple and red with a hummingbird.

Known for his combination of traditional Navajo imagery with an urban graffiti style, Albuquerque-based artist Nathan Nez also utilizes the 19th century tradition of Ledger Drawing to create a portfolio that is at once distinctly Native American with a contemporary flair. A veteran of the United States Army, Nez sees himself as a role model for kids on the Reservation, showing that you can be successful no matter where you come from.
