Time to Celebrate!
These are qualities that San Juan College students embody in abundance.
I want to congratulate our 2024 SJC graduates. I hear time and time again about the remarkable journeys each of you has traveled to reach this point,
and your stories never fail to move me. I applaud you and your efforts with the utmost respect and admiration. Making the decision to attend college, whether it be straight out of high school or years later, isn’t always easy. I am proud that each of you took on the challenge and accomplished your goals. You deserve all the honor, respect, and commendations that are coming your way. I am also proud and honored that you chose San Juan College to further your education; we are pleased to have played a part in your educational journey.
I recently attended the San Juan College Foundation Scholarship Reception, where I heard Torince Tanner, SJC Trustees’ Scholar, express her gratitude and reflect on her educational journey. As a scholarship recipient, she addressed those who made her journey possible. “Your belief in the power of
education and your willingness to invest in students’ futures inspire me to strive for excellence and make a positive impact on the world around me,” said Tanner. She added, “I am excited about the journey that lies ahead.”
Tanner’s words and the belief that education gives all who pursue it power resonated deeply with me. Education gives us the power to better our lives, expand our horizons, and enrich our communities and the world. I have complete confidence that you will accomplish the goals that you will set, and I will anxiously wait to hear of the positive impacts you will make in our communities and beyond.
I implore you to never stop growing, exploring, learning, and challenging yourself. Congratulations and best wishes Class of 2024!
