Next Steps for International Admits
Now that you're part of the SJC Family, there are a few more steps to take to prepare for the first day of class. Below you'll find detailed information that will guide you through the enrollment process. Be sure to attend new student orientation, where you’ll gain valuable info about resources, opportunities and student life! We're here for you if you have any questions.
We encourage students to complete the steps below as soon as possible.
Once you have received a copy of your I-20 you must login to https://www.fmjfee.com/ to pay the $350 SEVIS fee. The receipt must be turned into the Admissions Office.
Your MySJC account is your passport to campus. You will need to be able to login to MySJC before you can apply for housing, access your SJC email, accept financial aid, and register for classes. It's important to complete this step as soon as possible. Instructions on how to access your SJC account are sent to your personal email after you've been admitted.
To be issued an SJC student ID card, bring your current acceptable government-issued ID to the Office of Admissions (West Classroom Complex, Room 1911). There is no charge for your first ID card. If you have an older SJC ID card, you can trade it in for a new one at no charge.
Fees for a replacement ID card due to being lost or stolen card is $10 and will be charged to the student’s account.
Acceptable Government-Issued IDs
You will need to provide a government-issued ID to obtain a SJC ID card. Examples include:
- Official high school student identification card from the school currently attending
- Government-issued driver's license or non-driver ID card
- Government-issued passport
- Government-issued military or national identification card (Consulate, Permanent Resident Card, Immigrant Visa Card, Employment Authorization Card)
You may drop in or schedule an appointment with your advisor. Your advisor will help you create an academic plan, register for courses, and help you with other services.
All beginning freshmen are required to complete New Student Orientation (NSO).
Orientation is designed to introduce you to the SJC campus. It provides an overview of the many types of academic support and campus life activities available to you.
Orientation can be completed online or in person. We strongly recommend In-person Orientation for all students attending In-person classes. A campus tour is also provided.
