The Tutoring Center provides free academic support in a variety of subjects. Our peer and professional tutors are here to help you build skills, better understand course material and reach your academic goals.
What to Expect at the Tutoring Center
Tutoring Services

Tutoring support is also available for students preparing for the HiSET or GED, including students enrolled in HiSET and GED preparation classes.

Tutoring appointments are available online or in person and can be scheduled through Accudemia.

Before Scheduling:
- We recommend booking your appointment at least one week in advance.
- Appointments cannot be scheduled through Accudemia less than 24 hours in advance.
- Need an appointment within 24 hours? Call the Tutoring Center at (505) 566-3981 for assistance.

After-Hours and Weekend Availability
If you need assistance outside of our in-person operating hours or on weekends, please schedule an appointment with a tutor in Accudemia. Click on the button "Schedule a Tutoring Appointment" above to log in to your Accudemia account.

Prepare for Your Tutoring Session
To get the most out of your tutoring session:
- Have your SJC student ID number ready to log in.
- Bring your textbook and any necessary devices.
- Bring relevant course materials, such as your syllabus, handouts, assignment instructions, and instructor feedback.
- Remember to log out at the kiosk before leaving.
